Role Overview
The Manager – Purchase is responsible for leading procurement operations, vendor development, and cost optimization initiatives while ensuring timely availability of materials and services. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, inventory control, and process improvements, aligned with organizational objectives and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy
- Assist in formulating and executing procurement strategies aligned with business and project goals.
- Conduct detailed market research and supplier analysis to support sourcing decisions.
- Participate in risk assessment initiatives to ensure reliable supplier performance and business continuity.
Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors based on quality, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and capacity.
- Monitor vendor performance using KPIs and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers to enhance collaboration and long-term engagement.
Procurement Operations
- Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including RFQs, purchase orders, and delivery follow-ups.
- Streamline procurement workflows to minimize lead times and improve operational efficiency.
- Liaise with internal departments (engineering, finance, stores) to align procurement with project and operational needs.
Cost Management
- Support the development and monitoring of procurement budgets.
- Analyze procurement costs, identify savings opportunities, and implement cost-reduction strategies.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and supply conditions with vendors and service providers.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Act as the key point of contact for suppliers, handling communications, conflict resolution, and performance feedback.
- Establish formal feedback mechanisms to enhance supplier quality and service delivery.
- Collaborate on supplier-led initiatives for process improvement and innovation.
Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts and excess holding.
- Plan and execute replenishment strategies in line with consumption and forecasting models.
- Conduct regular audits and resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with stores and finance teams.
Quality Assurance
- Define and enforce quality standards for procured materials and services.
- Perform supplier facility audits and pre-dispatch inspections to ensure compliance.
- Work with quality control teams and suppliers to resolve non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and support the development of the procurement team.
- Facilitate training on procurement tools, negotiation techniques, and compliance policies.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, ownership, and continuous improvement within the department.
Compliance and Ethics
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to organizational policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain transparency, fairness, and accountability in all sourcing decisions.
- Support internal and external audit processes with timely documentation and responses.

Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Experience: Minimum 8 years in purchase Premium Residential.
ERP: Minimum 4 years of experience
