Role Overview
The Assistant Manager – MEP is responsible for overseeing the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects of residential construction projects, ensuring high-quality execution, timely delivery, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role requires strong coordination with vendors, contractors, and internal teams, along with technical proficiency in MEP systems and a proactive approach to resource management and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery Support
- Ensure all MEP works are executed in accordance with project schedules, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate closely with project teams to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the overall construction plan.
Monitoring & Control of Site Activities
- Coordinate daily with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain workflow and avoid bottlenecks.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure proper installation, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations across all MEP activities.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and statutory requirements.
Project Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation including drawings, specifications, calculations, and method statements.
- Track design changes and ensure proper documentation is maintained for audits and future reference.
Team Leadership
- Guide and support junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Ensure effective task delegation, supervision, and professional development of the MEP team.
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for timely delivery of materials and adherence to project timelines.
- Monitor contract compliance and manage communication related to technical and logistical issues.
Performance Monitoring
- Evaluate the quality and performance of MEP contractors and service providers.
- Identify performance gaps and implement corrective measures to ensure project objectives are met.
Technical Expertise
- Possess a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including their integration in residential projects.
- Stay updated on relevant codes, standards, and emerging technologies in the MEP domain.
- Utilize project management tools and scheduling software to track progress and address issues proactively.
Resource Management
- Identify and onboard new suppliers and vendors to strengthen the MEP supply chain.
- Develop comparative statements for procurement and evaluate alternative materials or methodologies for cost and time efficiency.
- Optimize resources and ensure availability of materials and tools for uninterrupted project execution.

Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 6 years in Premium Residential.
ERP: Minimum 2 years of experience.
